HOME BUTTON BOARD DID YOU RECEIVE A BUTTON? WANT TO GIVE AWAY
A BUTTON?
AWESOME DANCERS AWESOME STUDIOS WANT YOUR STUDIO TO PARTICIPATE?

If you received an "Awesome Dancer" button...

...it says something very special about you.  It says that a fellow dancer noticed something about you.  Perhaps it was your smile, your technique, your poise, your leadership, your effort, or something else about you that makes you an "awesome dancer."

Whatever the reason, you should be proud of this recognition.  Think about it...  This recognition didn't come from a place where you normally expect this sort of thing.  It didn't come from a competition judge.  It didn't come from one of your own teachers.  It didn't come from a parent.  It came from someone who was probably a total stranger to you and perhaps from someone who you even considered a competitor.

So if you received an "Awesome Dancer" button, we want to know about.  We want to know who you are and where you dance.  But we also want to know about the experience of receiving an "Awesome Dance" button.  When and where did it happen?  How was it presented to you?  How do you feel about getting this recognition from another dancer?  How does this change your feelings about dance competitions or those who dance at other studios?

Here's what to do:

  1. Click here to visit the Dance Button Message Board.
  2. Find your button number in the left-hand column and click on it.  (You may need to use one of the sort options to find your button.)
  3. Type a note to tell us about yourself, where and when you received the "Awesome Dancer" button, and how it made you feel.
  4. Wear the button with pride.

Then here's the really tough part...  We don't want you to keep the button.  We want you to give it away.

To realize all that The Dance Button Project is about, you need to experience what it's like to tell another dancer that they are awesome.  You need to make another dancer feel as special as you felt the day you received your button, and the only way for that to happen is for you to give your button to someone else.

It's tough.  We know it's really tough, but you need to do it.  And when you do give your button away, then you'll know what The Dance Button Project is all about.

With a little luck, and if you pick someone who is an awesome person as well as an awesome dancer, your button will travel on, bringing joy to another dancer, then another, and you'll be able to follow it's progress on the Dance Button Message Board.
